i had quite the awesome weekend.
seeing Rocky on Friday night was really a nice way to start it off.
well actually, i guess that Thursday was the start of my weekend...went upstate for a soccer game, semi-finals...lost 5-3. really fuckkin shitty ref screwed us when we could have gone 3-1 up...after that, it was just downhill and even more shitty calls.
oh well.
win some, lose some. or whatever that is that's supposed to make it sound okay to lose.
ha.
but yeah, Rocky...fuckin was fuckin awesome. sat there with Tony in a emptied out art gallery in midtown.
about 40 people there. nice little seating set-up.
played only 3 new songs...which was cool cause i was a bit worried that i wasn't going to get to hear anything i really wanted...but holy shit did i.
he played 'alabaster' 'portland' 'white daisy' 'medicine' 'makers' 'silver trees' 'goldfield'....and a bunch more..but those were the main things that stood out.
i took a video of the whole show...my card filled up though before the last 2 songs, but i got those on my phone.
and the video i took was only audio actually cause i didn't want to hold the camera the whole damn time.
saturday i layed around all day being lazy.
got Aaron to cover my shift so that i could go see a show at the Loft.
it was Straylight and Dangerous Summer.
pretty sweet to see Straylight again, they played alot of older stuff which i didn't think they were going to. kinda tough to rework some of those songs into a 3 piece.
talked to Shawn after the show for a bit, kinda fuckin awesome. heh.
talked to him about how the Loft looks now, and about how i've been seeing them for years now, talked about their first show at the Downtown...and about the TBS show at Culture. he was like "oh yeah, we played with Matchbook, i mean, the Getaway, that show was great" (prolly one of my favorite shows ever)
got back home last night after 11.
fuckin MTA sucks balls, train stopped for almost a half an hour and they didn't say why.
then the fuckin 7 train skipped my stop, and when i went to switch, had a train pull in and then pull away without picking anyone up.
took forever to get home.
hung out with peoples here till about 3am.
they left, i passed out by 3:30.
woke up at 9...did not want to stay awake, so i went to the bathroom and then came back in and passed out till 11.
been up since then. on facebook and whatnot.
went food shopping, with the money i don't really have.
gotta really save up from what i make over the next few weeks..getting a little behind on bills...sucks.
that's what i get for taking so much time off though.
might have the chance for another job....let's hope that works out...cause then i won't have any worries about money.
work today at 6.
then Netflix on the couch all night.

twas a very good month.
got to see Gaslight play almost all the songs i could have wanted to hear. (no 'contender' or '1930')
took a great trip to Denmark and got to hang out with Heather, plus got to stroll around Europe.
not as relaxing as the last time that i went there...but i guess that's what bringing my parents along gets me.
a bit stressed.
glad to be back to not being stressed, but just enjoying my life.
it's quite a good one i'm finally settled in with.
music makes it all that much better.

should be a good month. i wanna bring 2009 out on a strong last 6 months. although the first 6 were pretty strong as well.

damn.
oops.
at the hotel right now, awake and getting ready to leave.
nice 8 and a half hour flight home.
it's been a good trip.
it was really good seeing heather and frederik.
i'm gonna be happy to get back to NY.
i'll sit down one day soon and do a big recap.
it's 8:12 in the morning. yawn.
my beard is out of control.
